Sometimes clients feel they are stuck or having difficulty letting go of past experiences or emotional hurts. They aren’t sure what is wrong with them or if they are ever going to heal, wanting to push past the pain and be better already.
I utilize a holistic and individualistic DBT-based approach to validate each client’s unique lived experience, and work with them to challenge and overcome these emotional barriers or negative habits; to achieve their life goals through therapy. I work to create a safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming environment for clients. By both validating and challenging our lived experiences, we can reframe and strengthen our resilience, learning new ways of coping and patterns of behaviour. I use a structured therapy approach and develop a stable therapeutic relationship with clients to which can provide them with the space and time they need to heal, and develop a sense of self-grace.
