Clients sometimes have an easier time being kind to others compared to themselves, which can be caused by a lack of self-kindness. I use mindful self-compassion to help clients learn to treat themselves with the same care and understanding they would have for a good friend having a difficult time. A lack of self-compassion can show up as perfectionism and feelings of low self-esteem. I help clients change these patterns through the use of a warm, affirming presence and a gentle, supportive therapeutic approach.
I believe that people are resilient and that it takes courage to move forward. My goal is to restore hope and promote growth.
